I have played at Albion SC since the age of 7. Over the last 11 years, I have played on 2 National/State Cup Championship teams and also 2 State Finalists. Our team is the only boy's team to have played in 4 straight State Championships in Cal-South history. We were also ranked #1 in the country by Gotsoccer.com several times during that run.
My current Albion MLSNext team were the champions of the SW Division of MLSNext finishing above both LAFC MLS Academy and LA Galaxy MLS Academy who we beat head to head. We were also the #2 Seed at the MLS Playoffs where we finished in the Top 16 Nationally narrowly losing to PDA who made it to the Finals. I scored 2 goals in the three games including the game winning goal over #22 Nationally Ranked Oakwood SC.
In addition, I have won 2 Surf Cup Championships and also won 4 straight Surf Thanksgiving Challenges. I was also Captain on the 2017 Cal South ODP Western Championship team. I have participated in several US Soccer Youth National Team Training ID events in San Diego and Carson, CA.
I have had several international experiences. I have played twice in the MIC Cup in Spain. Beating Getafe and then losing in the Quarterfinals to FC Barcelona the first year. In addition, I was selected as part of Puma Select Team to train and trial with Arsenal FC in London. I was also selected to trial with HB Køge (A professional academy in Denmark) before the pandemic hit.
Recently, I was selected as one of the top players in Southern California to represent Orange County SC in the USL Academy Cup in Florida.
In addition to soccer, I have also played futsal to improve my technical ability and speed of play. I have won the US Futsal National Championship and have been selected and played on the US Youth Futsal National team. We played in Canada where I led the team in the assists.
When COVID shut down most soccer activities in California, I made a concerted effort to improve as much as I could physically, mentally, and technically.
Physically, I have added 10lbs of muscle and increased by bench press from 135lbs to 170lbs. Also, I have improved by endurance and speed.
Mentally, I have been focusing on the mindsets of some of the greatest competitors ever like Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, and Dwayne Wade. I read the book "Relentless" by Tim Grover, who was their personal trainers, and he explains what set them apart. He describes them as cleaners and sets out 12 things one must do to become a cleaner which his name for the ultimate competitor who refuse to be satisfied. It was quite motivating and I keep it on my desk in my room. I have also read, Blink by Malcolm Gladwell and self-help books such as, It Takes What It Takes by Trevor Moawad and Grit by Angela Duckworth.
Technically, I have been able to safely get additional private training focusing on passing and finishing.
Growing up in Southern California, I enjoy going to the beach and surfing.
Along with playing soccer, I also referee it as a Grade 8 Referee in Cal South.
I am a member of the Mock Trial Club at my school which teaches about the basics of law (objections, types of cases, regulations for trial, etc)
I've also started my own business, SoCal Thrifts, where I resale clothes that I have found through thrifting.
I plan on going outside my comfort zone and taking an AP Computer Science Principals course this year in high school. I want to learn and design an APP for people who reseal clothes to streamline the process of posting their items to multiple resell websites, such as Depop and Grailed. I would would also like to research more and learn, design, market and sell NFTs ( a digital token that's a type of cryptocurrency). I feel there is a market for them that has been untapped by colleges and players.
